Work in progress pictures
This was the first concept of the journey into the Operaverse made by Karl Johnsson.

Here is the first iteration of the level that was photgraphed. Some final assets are in place but the general feel is still quite far away.

And here is the same part of the level in the current build. Making it so that the player can only see what we want them to see right now was a great choice for keeping player focus forward.

My contributions
I was responsible for creating the environment during the journey into the Operaverse, working extensively with Unity's timeline system, which was a new and exciting learning experience. I also contributed significantly to the level’s aesthetics and a myriad of other tiny details.

Things I learned and my reflections
This was my first VR project, which was a great learning experience. The workflow was similar to regular projects, but I had to get used to specific VR tools. The main challenge was testing and verifying my work, which became more time-consuming and complex. Making builds, wearing the headset, and finding space slowed things down, so I worked in larger batches to test. I also dealt with some nausea, which I managed with ginger tea, breaks, and gradually increasing headset usage.

To conclude I'm very proud of what we have created so far with this project and I think it will make an exciting showcase for the Gothemburg Operahouse.
